Placement Guide

Indoors, no anchoring is required. We still recommend ballast: it keeps the vessel in place if someone knocks against it. For tall formats, several bags make sense.

• Delicate floors (parquet, natural stone, designer screed): see the section on floor protection below. Which protection is right depends on the weight.
• Underfloor heating: use an insulating pad and move the vessel occasionally so no single spot carries a permanent point load and heat.
• Radiators and fireplaces: do not place directly in front. Sustained one-sided heat is unfavourable for both lacquer and planting.
• Glazed facades: glass intensifies sunlight. Dark finishes heat up noticeably there — see section 06.
• Watering: use an inner pot or a saucer so no water stands permanently in the vessel.

Floor protection

A planted vessel weighs many times its empty weight once ballast, substrate and water are in. The most common damage to wooden floors is not the scratch but the moisture ring: whatever sits under the base no longer dries out. Protection therefore depends on format.

A firm connection to the ground is the only safe outdoor installation. Ballast reduces the risk; only anchoring rules out tipping.

• The buyer arranges anchoring, either personally or through a specialist contractor (landscaping, metalwork).
• Harmony & Apollo supplies the object and, on request, an anchoring set, but does not carry out placement or installation.
• The number and size of anchors depend on height, location and wind exposure and are specified by the contractor.

Three points that matter

• Load distribution: a load plate in the base spreads the force. Never screw directly through the thin vessel wall.
• Material protection: rubber washers belong between metal and vessel base. Direct contact can cause cracks.
• Three-point: fixing is done at three points in a triangle. This secures against tipping in every direction.

The object is weather-resistant and suitable for outdoor use. As with any tall, free-standing object: when storms or strong winds are forecast, secure it additionally or bring it indoors temporarily. Check ballast and stability after severe storms.

• Ensure free drainage so no standing water builds up.
• Raise the object slightly, for example on feet or a saucer, so water can run off.
• During frost periods, empty the vessel, cover it or move it to a sheltered spot.
• When planting, use permeable substrate and make sure drainage works.

The lacquer carries UV protection, yet permanent exposure can still change any finish over time. That is natural ageing, not a defect.

• Use only a soft cloth and lacquer-safe, solvent-free cleaners.
• No abrasives, solvents or pressure washers directly on the surface.
• Under permanent weathering, natural changes to the lacquer are possible and do not constitute a defect.
• Every object is handmade. Slight variations in surface and shade are production-related and part of its character.

The object is a decorative, sculptural vessel for planting and interior design. It is intended to be placed with ballast in its base, indoors as well as outdoors. Outdoors, firm anchoring is added and is mandatory there.

The following are not intended uses and are not permitted:

• Climbing in, bathing, or persons occupying the vessel.
• Use as a seat, step, ladder or support, as well as climbing on or leaning against it.
• Placing or keeping animals inside.
• Use as a water basin, pond, fountain, aquarium or pool.
• Contact with food or drinking water; the vessel is not food-safe.
• Open flame, fire pit, grill or other heat sources in or directly against the vessel.
• Use as a load-bearing component or for fixing or suspending loads.
• Letting children or pets play unsupervised at or around the object.
